This post touches on two different topics: how to style a quirky graphic tee with wide-leg pants for summer and why Luna Lovegood happens to be my favorite fictional character.
These go hand-in-hand when you realize that my tee has Luna’s spectrespecs in addition to a mantra that both she and I find very important: “it’s okay to be different.” The Wizarding World, as a whole, is very special to me and has impacted my life for the better. Before I had even seen the movies (or read the books), I admired the courage it took for actress Evanna Lynch to be cast in the role of Luna. When I learned more about this special Hogwarts student, I immediately fell head over heels in love with her whimsical outlook on life, despite the hardships she faced. She immediately became my favorite fictional character (and I even named my cat after her).
When I saw that my favorite magical boutique, The Common Room Co. had released a Luna graphic tee, I knew I had to get my hands on it right away. It sold out immediately after the initial launch, but the day it was restocked, I was ready and waiting to make my purchase. It’s only available in select sizes at the moment, but follow the shop owner, Hallie, on Instagram because she is excellent about posting shop updates to the page!

3 Life Lessons I’ve Learned from Luna Lovegood
Being yourself is beautiful. Luna’s character can come across as a little bizarre to some, but I adore her. She’s not afraid to be herself and she embraces her uniqueness. One of my favorite quotes by her: “Being different isn’t a bad thing. It means you’re brave enough to be yourself.“
There’s nothing wrong with a little eccentricity. She believes in Nargles, wears Spectrespecs, reads The Quibbler upside down, and she never bats an eyelash at it (no matter how others look at her). “Don’t worry. You’re just as sane as I am,” she tells Harry, and gosh, if only we could all embrace our whimsy and wonder the way Luna does.
Always look for the positive. Despite the fact that Luna lost her mother as a child, and she’s seen some pretty gruesome things over the years, she maintains an air of positivity that’s utterly contagious. “Things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end. If not always in the ways we expect,” she states. Basically, keep your head up, despite the odds!
How to Easily Style White Wide Leg Pants for the Summer
Don’t be intimidated by white pants – or wide leg pants, for that matter. This pair is spectacular. White pants are an excellent addition to a summer wardrobe, and as long as you test them out before purchasing to make sure they aren’t too sheer, you’ll be set. Don’t be afraid of wide leg bottoms either. They’re an awesome way to add flair to any ensemble.
Since my t-shirt was on the more casual side, I decided to dress it up easily with the wide leg pants and a pair of block heel sandals. Everything was incredibly comfortable and breezy – ideal for a hot summer day. You could also wear these bottoms with a button-up blouse or demure sleeveless top. There are endless possibilities!
