I am obsessed with lace-up everything. No, really. For months now I’ve been double tapping every photo of those cute lace-up flats or lace-up tops, lace-up dresses and even lace-up skirts. Seriously, I think I might have some sort of addiction to laces and my Instagram history can prove it. There’s something so cute and flirty yet quirky about an article of clothing that doesn’t use a button or zipper but ties together instead. Needless to say, I had to get my hands on some of those perfect pieces ASAP.
The weather in my hometown has been oh-so bizarre this winter. With temperatures in the 70’s rather than in the 20’s, I’ve been able to get away with less layers. Oddly enough, I can’t wait for the true cold weather to get here, but for now, I’m grateful for the opportunity to still get away with a cute sweatshirt and jeans. I paired this combo of course with my favorite lace-up flats (I mean, what else?). It’s the perfect laid back outfit to explore the shops and cafes of Shockoe Bottom in downtown RVA. This is one of my favorite locations, due to the old-timey feel with cobblestone streets.
Here’s hoping everyone had an incredible New Years! I spent my night curled up in bed with pizza, games, and the New Year’s Rockin Eve on TV. It was fun to watch the ball drop and feel the anticipation of a fresh start on January 1st. I look forward to all the many blogging adventures I’ll have in 2016, and wish you all a fantastic year.
