Let me preface this by being completely straight up: I am absolutely not a health expert. I don’t work out every day, and I don’t live off of salads and green smoothies, but I do enjoy being healthy in a way that works for me! When I was in high school I was obsessed with a healthy lifestyle. One year for my birthday I got gym socks, an exercise ball, and fruit for smoothies. Now that I struggle with a lot of allergies and digestive challenges and I’m often sick, it can be difficult to manage a diet or workout routine, but I’ve found my groove, slowly but surely. I adore fruit, and try my best to eat plenty of it, usually starting the day with berries and greek yogurt. I can’t do a huge amount of active working out, but yoga is wonderful and I love talking walks. Shooting has also become a part of my routine, as it involves a huge amount of moving around, and of course, quick changes in the back of a vehicle while hoping and praying nobody sees you. Thank the good Lord for tinted windows!
One of my biggest motivations to exercise has always been new and cute work out clothes! Yes, I was one of those girls in the gym with her bright colored tank tops and pants, and I totally don’t care if you judge. If it helps me form a healthier lifestyle, I will wear neon pants if I want to! However, my style has toned down slightly, and now I prefer my favorite yoga leggings paired with a comfy sweatshirt during the winter months. I had been eyeing this particular top for months upon months, and I was thrilled to finally get it for Christmas. My first ever Brandy Melville item! I was absolutely wrecked when I found out that they were already sold out online – just a couple of weeks after it was purchased.
So fun facts about this shoot: I got my cardio in, that’s for sure. It was a brisk 35 degrees, but the temperature wasn’t the worst of it. The winds were so strong that I actually couldn’t stand up straight half of the time, and was jumping around trying to keep myself from turning into a total abominable snowman. I was laughing as I went through my original set of photos because more than half of them had my hair covering my face and my mouth glued in a grimace. I will tell you what, that was definitely my exercise for the whole week right there! I probably burned off the calories in an entire McD’s that day. Now you know the blogger secret to working out…we take photos…and shop. That’s our cardio! Shhh, don’t tell!
