Our wedding decor was absolutely breathtaking. I owe it all to my family and friends who worked so hard to make it perfect for us.
I’m not sure how I got so lucky. Truly, Brandon and I have the most generous, selfless, and wonderful friends and family who pitched in their time and very hard work to bring our (eh – my) wedding dreams to fruition. It was like watching my Pinterest boards come to life in front of my eyes, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
A laid-back, bohemian, rustic wedding was what I wanted – and what I got. From the dreamy tulle and twinkle lights hanging from the rafters to the long table runners made out of luscious greenery, it was all spectacular. Even the food was all we had hoped it would be and more. We still have guests mentioning to us how great it was that we served tacos and s’mores as our dinner and dessert. #WIN.

Prior to the wedding, I had the opportunity to interview the creator of our beautiful, hand-crafted wooden signs, Susan Atkins (read that here). You’ll notice in these photos what a difference her pieces made at our ceremony and reception. We even plan to hang several of the signs in our home! Even though we offered s’mores to our guests for dessert, I had high hopes of also including a naked cake for my groom and I to cut. Pearl’s Bake Shoppe didn’t disappoint. This cake was a wonderful gift from my sweet friend, Lindsey!
While the chairs and tablecloths were rented from Riverwood Events and Catering, the actual placement and “putting together” portion of the event was done entirely by family friends. They had already been working so incredibly hard for months prior to the big day, crafting the wooden arbor, collecting greenery, making wall-hangings, spray-painting wine bottles, and much more. Hours before “I do,” they arrived at the venue and turned an ordinary state park banquet hall into something straight out of a movie. I didn’t get the opportunity to see it before I walked down the aisle, and I about burst into tears with happiness upon entering the building. To say it was stunning would be the biggest understatement.
My brother-in-law became our knight in shining armor when he offered to cater our reception. He spent all day in the hot kitchen, making the yummiest tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Not only did he cook for everyone, but he also built our s’mores bar from scratch. It was the perfect, rustic addition and had everyone talking! Our drinks (margaritas, beer, and more) were served by a couple of gals I’ve known my entire life, and our emcee was one of my best guy friends from high school. Are you sensing a theme? Our friends are amazing.
The bridal details captured by Virginia Ashley Photography were a collection of special items, including our invitations from Basic Invite, our wedding bands (purchased on Etsy), my beautiful druzy earrings from The Shinn Life, and more. Sparkly, rose gold, and pink seemed to be the thing for me!
In all, the details, decor, and food on our wedding day were beyond excellent. I’m actually sitting here, writing up this post, having a hard time thinking of adjectives great enough to describe how wonderful it truly was. Excuse me while I go mop up my happy tears – caused by reliving the day through these photos!
