I’d like to introduce a new category to She Saw Style: menswear! My boyfriend so kindly agreed to make his fashionable debut on the blog featuring some of my favorite guy’s clothing, and after taking the photos, I realized he’s such male-model material that he might have snagged himself a permanent position! I have to admit, this is something I had been wanting to add for quite some time, but I wasn’t sure how to approach it. Reaching new demographics can be a little scary sometimes, especially when you’re unsure of what you’re doing. I’ve never styled men’s clothing before, and was pretty darn nervous as I browsed the racks of H&M, but after seeing him totally rock three full outfits I put together for him in the fitting room, I started getting goosebumps and thought, “maybe I can do this!” So please, give Brandon a round of applause for not only letting me pick out his clothing (which took a good several hours of shopping), but for facing some pretty chilly winds while being photographed. He’s a major trooper and also a major keeper!
I wanted to put together something that was casual, yet classy. Of course, my immediate choice was H&M for their easy to put together basics. I chose a somewhat monochrome style with black as the focus. I think a comfortable leather jacket is a key piece for any wardrobe, male or female, since you can wear it with nearly anything, and this particular one was soft as butter and I loved how simple it was. No embellishments or extra texture, so it gave the ultimate air of sophistication while still giving off that rugged vibe. I paired it with a soft sweater, perfect to dress up or down, some black slim-fit jeans, and one of Brandon’s favorite pairs of limited edition shoes. (He has quite the collection, let me tell you. It definitely rivals mine!) The full ensemble is just fantastic because it’s casual enough to wear out to a park during the day and nice enough for dinner and a movie at night. If you’d like to dress it up more, just opt for a pair of sleek leather desert boots instead of sneakers.
So, what do you think? Would you like to see more menswear on the blog? Do you have any specific styling requests? Date night looks or travel ideas or anything else you want to see more of? Since Brandon and I are in a long distance relationship, we really only get to see each other once a month or so, but you can certainly plan on more of his studly face gracing She Saw Style from here on out! I’ve linked his outfit using LIKEtoKNOW.it, along with some of the other pieces I had him try on while we were shopping. Check out H&M for more awesome men’s clothing, because their spring selection is really bangin’ and if I had it my way, every guy I know would be wearing their products (that’s legit just me speaking, this isn’t sponsored it all, I promise)! Have a great weekend everyone.
