While I’m all for leather jackets or cardigans, this plaid boyfriend blazer is the star of my closet. It’s the ultimate third piece for any occasion.
Sometimes I start to persuade myself that I wear this blazer a little too often. Then I think, “naaaah. Not possible!” It just uplevels literally any outfit. I find that I enjoy layering it over anything from a graphic tee to a cozy pullover to a button-up blouse. It’s slightly oversized – hence the “boyfriend” part of it – but it doesn’t look bulky. That’s key. You don’t want it to be overly structured, but you want it to still flatter the best parts of you. I sized up in mine, but made sure that it cinched in at the waist just the way I like.
I own two other boyfriend blazers, but I’ll admit I rarely reach for them. This plaid one just screams my name. It also has so many neutral colors in it, which makes it easy to match with other pieces. I’ve seen blazers like this at so many different retailers, but I suggest you shell out a little extra for something quality. If you’re anything like me, you’ll be styling it a lot so you’ll want to make sure it’s not going to fall apart after ten wears!

Spring Things I’ve Tried On //
While at Nordstrom, I tried on this fantastic utility top. I’m trying not to purchase too many items right now, but if I can’t get my mind off it, I may go back to snag it.
I shared this top on Instagram stories, and everyone loved it. The color is phenomenal.
The Jonas Brothers Are Back //
A.K.A. Literally the only thing I care about right now. They announced a new song release on my birthday (2/28) and it came out at midnight, so naturally I’ve spent the last week jamming to it nonstop.
They took over the Late Late Show and I couldn’t stop laughing at this video that gave me major throwback feels.
Basically, this article sums up all my feelings about their reunion.
RVA Spots I’m Into //
I’ve gone to Bar Solita more than once in the past month, and I have a feeling I’ll be back again soon. I’ve had both brunch and lunch there and loved every moment of it. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that it’s a super Instagrammable atmosphere.
Don’t Look Back has been a favorite taco spot of mine for a few years now, but they recently opened a location within walking distance from my house, and it’s definitely made me crave tacos a little more regularly!
Blog Post I Read //
The only travel plans I currently have are to my backyard, but this post by Carolyn made me want to plan a beach trip something fierce!
I literally live for these posts from Emily. It’s how I’ve found so many books I enjoy.
Alright, if I can’t go to the beach, Laura Leigh has me craving some coffee in NYC.
Drinks I’ve Enjoyed //
For my Harry Potter-themed birthday party, Brandon and I perfected a butterbeer recipe so good that I’m going to put together a full blog post on it soon.
We also created a fun “Polyjuice Potion” which consisted of rainbow sherbet, 7Up, and vodka. I added a bit of green food coloring to make it look slightly unreal. It was super tasty.
If you couldn’t already tell, I prefer mixed drinks. So lately, I’ve been combining orange juice, cranberry juice, Sprite, and vodka together for a less complicated (and less-expensive) version of a “Sex on the Beach.”
