Just minutes after “I do,” my husband and I traipsed into the woods for golden hour newlywed portraits.
I’ll never forget the joy that was just oozing out of us as we grinned and kissed our way through these photos. It was probably mid-40’s outside, and people were asking if I was freezing – but the adrenaline pulsing through my veins kept me cozy. Truthfully, it was like living in a fairytale bubble on my wedding day. After a week of dreadful, gross rain and snowy weather that caused out-of-town guests to miss flights, waking up on November 18th to bright sunshine and “warmer” temperatures was near-miraculous. We had just enough light outside after our 3pm ceremony to capture these precious moments of love. The vibrant, warm hues in the wooded area surrounding us seemed to be a direct result of the glow from our happiness.
I know there were moments when our talented photographer had to pose us, but honestly, it was the easiest thing in the world to keep on smiling and smooching.
Choosing just a handful of these photos to share with you all was the biggest challenge. I love them all so very much. They capture the most spectacular day of my entire life. The Marie Kondo method is to throw out anything that doesn’t “spark joy,” and I can certainly state with confidence that these photos will never, ever be tossed! Looking at them sparks more joy than anything I could possibly imagine.

If you click the left and right arrows through the three slides below, you’ll see that the first photo is from our wedding day, the second is from our engagement photos, and the last one is a picture from the first photoshoot we did together (in 2016). All the same pose because we’re cheesy and nostalgic.
