Just a few weeks ago, my mom won a night at Muse Paintbar from my fellow RVA blogger, Megan, of Sweet Sauce Blog. While we were both excited about the idea of a fun night filled with painting and wine, she’s still in the long process of recovering from her extensive back surgery. However, Muse was kind enough to not only let her come back at a later date once she’s recovered, but after noticing my blogger status, asked if I would bring a date and review my experience, myself! I was thrilled to take Brandon out for an evening of getting messy and having so much fun!
Muse Paintbar has several locations up and down the East Coast, and I was so excited when they chose a spot in RVA to call home. Muse is placed in the same shopping center as my favorite donut store and comic shop, as well as several wonderful restaurants and a hot yoga barre. It’s a great spot for a full night of fun! Brandon and I showed up a little early to watch them set up (and get started on our glasses of wine – which, by the way, they have a fabulous selection of) and get a little tour around their space. The interior has a laid-back atmosphere with warm lighting and exposed brick. Many paintings done by the staff and others just like ours hang from the walls. The artists were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home.
While there are plenty of party options to choose from (couples’ art, wine glass paintings, free drink night), we just happened in on a “typical” evening, which we got to choose based off the painting on the website. If you head to their calendar, you can see which pieces they’re doing each night and depending on how easy or challenging it looks to you, you can schedule based on what you see! I chose a relatively simple piece of art for Brandon and myself, though we both are certainly not painters 😂 That being said, the artist did an incredible job walking everyone through the process, making sure no one got left behind and by the time we were finished, we were honestly impressed with our own work!
If you’re considering trying out Muse Paintbar – or any other locations offering a paint night – I would highly recommend it! Whether it’s just for you, a date night, or even with a group, I’ll promise you a night of stress-relief, lots of laughs, good wine, beautiful artwork, and so much fun. For my Richmonders: have you ever been to Muse? If not, I urge you to go in the next few weeks! I looked ahead at the schedule, and the painting options are so pretty! For everyone else: have you ever done a paint night? If so, what did you paint?
[Special thank you to Muse Paintbar for having us for a wonderful night out!]
