When I begin the transition from summer to autumn fashion, I also begin the transition from summer to autumn beauty. My routine switches up and I start incorporating darker, moodier colors, more moisture, and as much of a dewy glow as I can muster. Some of you may be aware of my skin conditions, but if you aren’t, I have a full post here. I thought I’d give everyone an update on my autumn-to-winter beauty routine, so that you can get a head start on the trends for the season. I partnered up with Measurable Difference to bring you this post, and they were kind enough to provide a coupon code that gives you 25% off your purchase plus free shipping. Honestly, with their prices, this is a deal you seriously can’t pass up! Use 25STEPHANIE at the checkout to redeem your discount!
My fiancé has been laughing with me lately because I’ve gotten into the habit of saying “I forgot how much I loved ________ ” every time I try something I haven’t in a while. Whether that’s food, watching a movie, going to a spot in town, or wearing a makeup product. I’ll admit, though, that the second I put on the Posh Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Knee Socks” from Measurable Difference, the first thought that popped into my head was, “I forgot how much I loved wearing dark liquid lipstick!” There’s something so dramatic about it, and something that really brings a look together. I’ve taken to incorporating this color, along with “Opera” into my makeup routine on a frequent basis (you can see me wear “Opera” in this post). Measurable Difference is a cruelty free, LA-based beauty brand that uses quality ingredients to bring luxury and color into your routine. Not only do they have cosmetics (which is what I was lucky enough to get my hands on), but they also sell skin care and beauty tools. The next products I want to try are their body oils and bath bombs!
Along with these products, I’ve also switched up my primary beauty routine. I’ll begin my day with cleansing and exfoliating, using the Neutrogena Grapefruit Acne Scrub. This product gives me the feeling of sloughing off all the missed bits of makeup from the night before, along with all the dead skin cells that collected during my sleep. It’s also an incredibly refreshing start to the day! After my typical moisturizer, I’ll prime my face with the Maybelline Master Prime Blur + Illuminate. This brings a sheer glow to my skin, and completely hides all my pores.
Since I have such intensely hyperpigmented skin and dark acne scarring (along with acne itself), I need a high-coverage foundation that doesn’t make me too oily throughout the day. I swear by Dermacol. It’s practically unknown, but it shouldn’t be. The tiniest bit – and I mean tiniest bit – goes such a long way, covering every bit of my discoloration. I don’t even need to spot conceal my face. I use the Maybelline Master Conceal beneath my eyes and that’s it! To lock it all in, I wear the Physician’s Formula Mineral Color Correcting Powder. This is the only powder I can use beneath my eyes that doesn’t make them appear darker than they were pre-concealor. It’s magic!
To bring some life and color to my face, I bronze with the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer (cult favorite and rightly so)! My blush is Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blush in “Paaarty” and my highlight is the e.l.f. Baked Highlighter in “Moonlight Pearls” (side note on the highlight: I went to a party the other day and was complimented more than once on my glow – so it’s definitely a winner)!
For my eyes, I’ve been having the best time ever experimenting with different color combinations using the Measurable Difference “Enticed” Eyeshadow Palette. I’ll admit that I almost purchased the “Enchanted” Eyeshadow Palette instead, since it has more light and bright colors to play with, but I knew that my autumn beauty routine would be better suited to the dark and shimmery tones in the “Enticed” palette. I’ve created some matte pink and purple looks that would make a mermaid envious, along with blue and silver smokey eyes to wear for date nights. These shades are buttery smooth and pigmented, ensuring that I won’t be using up the palette any time soon. To emphasize my eye looks, I line my waterline and tightline with the NYX Slide-On Pencil, and then create a winged line above my lashes with the Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner. I was super inspired by the Measurable Difference Instagram page – filled with lots of beauty influencers sharing their different makeup looks using the pigmented products. With their affordable pricing, I’m dying to purchase a bunch more eyeshadows and even their highlighters to experiment with new looks!
The cherry on top of my makeup routine has been those dynamite liquid lipsticks. I can’t get enough. They’re rich and smooth and last for hours. Pro tip: Let them dry down before rubbing your lips together. They do stay sticky for several minutes, but once they’re dry – they’re not gonna smudge on you one bit. I’ll make my look last all day with the e.l.f. Makeup Mist & Set spray, and I know I can head out the door and slay all day!
In the evening, I’ll use my Garnier Micellar Water to remove my makeup, and cleanse it with the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleansing Gel to soothe my skin and keep it moisturized and plumped through the night, ready for a new day of makeup play in the A.M.!
I’m so glad I found a brand that helped me transition my beauty look from summer into autumn and beyond. You can see more of my favorites from Measurable Difference right here! What are your top fall beauty tips and tricks?
