If you live anywhere on the East Coast (or really just about anywhere right now), you’re probably experiencing the same, or similar, extremely cold temperatures that I have been in the past few weeks. I might sound crazy, but I definitely prefer cold weather over hot. I’d rather add on layers than feel like I can’t take anymore off. However, once it gets to single digits and negative temps, I’m ready to find somewhere to cozy up with a warm drink. I’ve been noticing myself going out on more lunch or midday coffee dates with my friends and fiancé. I think a lot of that has to do with the frigid degrees in the AM and the early sunset in the PM. It’s easier to stay warm and enjoy life in the middle of the afternoon – especially when you wear a cheery color like pink to boost your spirits!
Pink and yellow are probably the two happiest colors I can think of – and while I don’t wear much yellow, I have quite the affinity for pink! I’ve made mention before how I used to hate the color, but now it’s found its way into my heart and made itself at home. When I saw this fuzzy jacket at Forever 21, I knew there was no way I was going home without it. I got it while I was on vacation in Florida, however, so those first few days of owning it, it sat sadly next to my bed and begged me to wear it and just deal with the sweat. I didn’t cave, though, and instead wore it on the flight back to RVA. Since then, it’s become my go-to jacket when I’m running errands, going to lunch, and the like.
For this particular “casual” look, I chose to run with the delightful pink trend, and paired my ultra-cozy jacket with a pink mock-neck top, a pair of pink booties, pink earrings and necklace, and I even carried a pink bag with me (which wasn’t pictured because I had all of a thousand things inside it and it looked like Mary Poppins’ tote bag). Since all my pieces were different shades of this idyllic color, they paired together in a perfectly monochromatic pink ensemble. The best part? When I met up with one of my blogger babes, Olivia, she was wearing an all-pink look as well … fuzzy jacket and all! Great minds think alike!
Would you wear this to a winter lunch or coffee date?
