Dreams of Denim: Little Chambray Dress

Dreams of Denim: Little Chambray Dress

I used to believe there was nothing better than a LBD (little black dress).  That is, until I discovered the power of the LDD (little denim dress).  While a LBD tends to give an air of power and class, a LDD is playful and flirty, and can be worn a million different ways!  I found this chambray cutie at Charlotte Russe – for only $30 I might add – and the second I tried it on, I knew I would never want to take it off.  Not only does it have the popular cold shoulder trend, but the sleeves are ruffled, and the fit is as comfortable as can be.  It’s ridiculously flattering and has infinite style options.

For this post, I’m sharing two ways to wear this chambray piece – dressed up and dressed down – but let your creativity take you for a ride and tell me how you might wear it!

Dressed Down

Dressing something down and casual doesn’t mean it has to be boring.  Along with my totally over-worn Adidas Superstars, I chose some fun bangles and cuffs to layer for some sparkly arm candy.  I also grabbed my favorite Chloé Faye dupe and a pair of oversized marble sunglasses to spice it up.  I can see myself wearing this on a day of wandering around a new city, to run some errands with my boyfriend, or even to a sports event!

Dressed Up

Dressing chambray up is way more fun than I expected.  I didn’t want to draw away from the piece itself too much, so I kept it simple.  I picked my favorite pair of block heel sandals from last year (similar here) and added a bright, candy-colored necklace for that necessary pop of brightness!  Styling it this way, I could totally wear it to Sunday brunch, to the rooftop bar with my girlfriends, or to a networking event.

The best part about this dress is that because it’s denim, you can think of endless options, just like with your favorite pair of jeans.  Layer a sweater over it, wear bright shoes with it, add a belt to it, and most importantly … have fun with it!  You can’t go wrong with denim!

Playful and flirty are the perfect words to describe an LDD! Love the cold shoulders on this one. While I tend to lean more toward the dressed up look, I really like the dressed down look here! It would be fun to wear that to a sporting event or something of that sort!

I love the way how you can pull off a dress with sneakers. I don’t think I can pull it off but you’re totally tempting me to try it out. Those sunnies are so cool, totally add a street vibe to the look!

I am all about versatile outfits that can be dressed up or down and this chambray dress is perfect for summer. I love the ruffled open shoulders and the length is great too. I personally love it with the classic Adidas kicks but if you need to change it up, the summer sandals are great too. I love the marble sunnies and those are my fav! Great looks for either occasion – day or night! xoxo, Christine

I love seeing this beautiful chambray on you and once again you show your expertize in fashion as you know both how to dress up and down a beautiful piece like that and you do it with such effortless ease that I’m thinking darn. I know how to do casual, but I’m not equally good at dressing up and here’s a somewhat envious Thomas saying I wish I was as talented as you are!
