The Southern Women’s Show – where you get to shop, sample, and share the fun!
Last year, I was this close to going to the Southern Women’s Show, when I came down with some sort of sickness that prevented me from attending (such a bummer, considering Pretty Little Liar’s Keegan Allen was there)! I was really excited when I realized they were coming back to Richmond again this year, and there would be a fashion show – coordinated by my friend, Jon Copeland – and HGTV’s Vern Yip was planning sharing design advice and stylish living inspiration! Previous to the event, I received a totally fantastic box of goodies (similar to Birch Box or FabFitFun) that highlighted the different vendors who would be in attendance. Everything from lavender honey to eyebrow powder to Turkish towels began to flood my cloffice as I unboxed the package. This had me even more stoked for the show!
My mom and I have a long-standing tradition of going to craft shows together, so I knew she would be the perfect shopping buddy on the day of the event! We gathered up our things and headed out for a day of discovering new goodies to bring home. We bought butterscotch peanut butter from Sprelly, miniature red velvet cheesecake from Geescakes, Snickers fudge from Chocolate Moonshine Co., and more! I even ended up bringing home some delicious wines to share with my fiancé. To wrap the day up, we gathered by the catwalk to see one heck of an amazing fashion show, featuring styles from several local designers.
We saw, we shopped, we ate, we collapsed when we got home! It was such a fun day, and come to find out, it was designated “Mother-Daughter Day” – and I didn’t even know! I guess it was a sixth sense. 😉 I can’t wait to go to the Southern Women’s Show again next year!
Now for the outfit I wore…
I knew I wanted to be comfortable, but I also wanted something that screamed “spring”! St. Patrick’s Day happened to be the same day, so I needed a tiny bit of green. While my mom is adamant that these teal earrings don’t count, I thought they were plenty fine for the occasion. This outfit is effortless and whimsical and sure to garner tons of compliments!
