It’s been a hot minute since Starbucks released a truly spectacular drink. Ever since the #PinkDrink went crazy last year, there have been variations made and a couple new additions to the team (all rainbow colors of course). So, naturally, when they announced their #UnicornFrappe the world went nuts. This concoction is nothing but magical sweetness in a cup. The primary flavor is mango, with a subtle tangy aftertaste due to the sour blue drizzle. Is it perfectly picturesque and fairy-tastical for your Instagram feed? Absolutely. Does it taste as divine as it looks? Honestly, I think it’s pretty dang awesome. I may be one of the few to truly enjoy this drink, all 280 calories (in a tall) of it. While I expected it to be sickeningly sweet, I was pleasantly surprised that the sweetness wasn’t as overpowering, and tasted more like drinking liquid SweeTarts than anything else.
Even if this drink was a permanent item on the Starbucks menu, I don’t think it would replace my day-to-day coffee beverage, but it’s a fun treat, and a great way to bring some color to my blog. I took it along as a yummy prop for my photoshoot today, and boy was I grateful to have it, since we experienced our first almost-90° day here in RVA. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I’m switching from primarily pants to nonstop dresses. Right before I left for my Easter trip up the coast with Brandon, I stopped into Versona to grab the perfect holiday dress. I had tried this piece on just a couple weeks before in white, but when I saw this gorgeous ballerina pink shade, I knew it had to be mine.
It seems as though cold-shoulders and blush pink are taking over my closet this spring, and I’m not mad about it. Before you know it, my entire clothing collection will consist of these trends. The cold-shoulder style allows me to show off my arms without the pain of a completely OTS (off-the-shoulder) item that won’t stay put no matter what I do. I think my child self would find it hilarious how much I love wearing pink, considering how much I disliked it while growing up, but it’s feminine and fun and now I can’t stop, won’t stop.
What do you think of these trends? Cold-shoulders, blush pink, and unicorn frappuccinos? Have you tried any or all of them? Let me know your thoughts!
